Thank you for visiting our team page. My name is Hilary and I am 26 years old.
I been living with Parkinson symptoms since age 14, and was diagnosed in 2015 at age 24.
After my diagnosis I discovered the Parkinson’s Society and found the support I needed through their counselling services. This wouldn’t have been possible without events like the Parkinson Superwalk.
By supporting this event, your donations not only go towards finding a cure, but will also provide support to people with Parkinson’s that can be life changing.

God has taught me so much through living with Him while having Parkinson’s Disease. Having Parkinson’s Disease has made me slow down and has changed the way I think about situations. Soon after my diagnosis in 2015, I began having panic attacks. At this same time I was learning about how important it is to protect my thoughts, and to have a positive perspective in situations. Through this, God has taught me to change in a new way by living centring my thoughts and actions on His word.

I began CBT (cognitive behaviour therapy) with one of their counsellors and have experienced so much healing through my sessions and hard work. Although I do notice my anxiety creeping up when I don’t keep up with the “tools” that have helped me. Here is the page with their counselling information.
